Why Remember Easter?
 by Frank Shortt
Is it a time of pink bunnies?
Or maybe, little baby ducks?
A time to don our finery,
So all may see our many bucks?

Is it time to hide painted eggs,
In all colors of the rainbow?
Or, as some say, a time to drink
To make merry with face aglow?

Why not a time to remember
All those less fortunate than we?
The homeless, the shut-ins, the poor,
In the U.S., land of the free?

All these years of proclaiming it,
Has become only tradition!
So, this year, let's do it right!
Be, in ourselves, Resurrection!
