We were told it bloomed at Christmas,
This being not the case at all,
It blooms as the Spirit moves it
Winter, spring, summer, or in fall.
Sharing its radiant beauty
For all to see and to enjoy
Crimson buds, blossoming outward
Their tantalizing rays employ.
Some countries decorate and use
This cacti as a Christmas tree.
Some say itís very deceitful,
And would rather just let it be.
