AOC, prior to becoming a candidate for national office, was a bartender in New York. I am not for, or against her.
Just this week she announced that she will again return to bartending to support those who seek a higher minimum wage! Will she be able to control all those who will be drawn to the bar due to her sudden rise to fame in Washington? Will she be able to make sure that someone there does not become inebriated to the point of not being able to drive safely after imbibing? She faces a great risk!
Drunk Driving is still the #1 cause of death on our roadways.
It has been proven that just one small drink of alcohol can affect some people to the point of not being able to think rationally. I have gone to the Airmanís club in the past as an airman in the USAF, had one small beer, and become so dizzy that I could barely walk. This was after a hot day of working in the Maintenance Shop where I was a Special Vehicle Repairman. After a few more beers, I had to be helped to the barracks by my fellow airmen. I did not drive in those days, Thank God!
Is our bartending Representative really thinking this thing out? Or is she trying to gain the vote of those who like hanging out at bars? This young woman is not looking very far ahead if she plans a career in Washington, D.C.
Students Against Destructive Decisions. The goal of this group is to provide students of all ages with the tools necessary to deal with issues associated with impaired driving, underage drinking, drug use, and other destructive decisions. Will this group compromise their ideas in order to vote for a bartending representative?
Teens Against Drunk Driving. As their name suggests, this organization shows that many teens are committed to putting an end to drunk driving. Its mission is as follows: The eradication of the preventable, violent act of drunk, distracted and destructive driving. These are future voters! Will they wish to support a politician who goes against their very core?
International Drunk Driving Prevention Association (IDDPA). Drinking and driving is a big problem, not only in the United States, but in other parts of the world this has become just as big an epidemic. This organization fights against drunk driving on an international level.
So with so many organizations against the use of alcohol, worldwide, why would a Representative of the United States hazard her standing to serve drinks to a group who may, or may not have enough influence on the House and Senate to attain their goals?
This particular Representative is acting childish, irrational, and only of her own well- being in obtaining a vote in her next election!
This is just my opinion!
